Debbie Marx and Rose-Marie Schütze have relocated their art gallery ‘Brushstrokes’, to By The Way guesthouse, where they share their space with African Bee Leather.
Their art is categorised by painting whatever intrigues them about living in Clarens. Their main focus is on still lives of freshly picked flowers, vegetables in beautiful containers, portraits of people or animals that have touched their lives, and of course capturing the beauty of our local landscape.
They are always challenging each other to keep on broadening their creative abilities. They love painting together as well as their painting group, where is there is always fun, laughter and wine.
Keeping local art alive is very important to both of them and their wish is to continue to keep Clarens an art village.
They paint large and tiny paintings to accommodate every home owner’s décor requirements.
Please visit them to see what they are up to from 9h00 to 16h00 every day, you might just catch either or both of them on a Saturday morning, painting or sipping wine or both!.
